PowerPhotonic, designer and manufacturer of freeform, wafer-scale optics, will be exhibiting its coherent beam combiners at the OPTRO 2024 exhibition and conference, in January, in Bordeaux. OPTRO 2024 is focused on optronics engineering and research for defence applications, including covering the latest relevant developments in photonics. OPTRO 2024 is organised by the ‘Association Aéronautique et Astronautique de France’; the French association of the aviation and space industries.
Dr. Stephen Kidd, Head of Sales and Marketing at PoweerPhotonic, said, “OPTRO 2024 is the ideal exhibition for PowerPhotonic to profile its coherent beam combiners. These are designed for high-power, ‘directed energy’, laser applications – the prime, new requirement of the defence industry. Our combiners take multiple, input laser beams, with matching phase, polarization and amplitude, and merge them into a single, high-power, high-quality, output beam. In defence applications, this brings significant efficiency, size, weight and power advantages to customers.
“PowerPhotonic’s supply chain resilience is also critical for many of our defence customers. We achieve this by duplicating our manufacturing sites, one at our Dalgety Bay HQ, in Scotland, and the other in Sahuarita, Southern Arizona, in the US. This approach ensures a high level of manufacturing continuity, with the flexibility to switch between production lines, if required.”
OPTRO 2024 is held in Bordeaux, from 23rd to 25th January, 2024.
