PowerPhotonic, designer and manufacturer of precision wafer-scale optics, will be exhibiting and delivering a poster presentation at SPIE Defence and Commercial Sensing (DCS), in Orlando, Florida, Booth 1236, from the 30th April to 4th May. SPIE DCS is the world’s premier defence exhibition and conference, showcasing many new products, systems and emerging technologies for security, defence, and counterterrorism markets. Its technical programme covers materials and devices; imaging and analytics; advanced sensing and imaging; and next-generation sensor systems and applications.
Mitchell Soufleris, senior optical design engineer at PowerPhotonic Inc., the company’s new US manufacturing facility in Southern Arizona, will deliver the poster presentation, entitled “Innovative freeform design methodology used for high efficiency coherent beam combinations”. This is part of the conference programme and will take place on 2nd May at 6.00pm. Mitchell explains, “Freeform optics enable complex beam shaping in directed, energy applications, such as defence. The PowerPhotonic design and manufacturing process allows for the precise manufacturing of monolithic optical elements, such as collimation arrays and phase flatteners. PowerPhotonic’s unique approach allows multiple optics elements to be combined into a single, extremely low-SWaP housing producing well aligned and collimated arrays of beams.”
PowerPhotonic is a corporate member of SPIE, alongside other photonics’ industry leaders. SPIE also represents the international society for optics and photonics, with more than 250,000 members globally.
We look forward to an extremely, fruitful exhibition.
