PowerPhotonic has appointed Dr Andrea Geltrude as Sales Manager EMEA, to support customers and drive growth in existing and emerging, industrial laser markets, including micro and macro material processing, bio-photonic and extreme, high-power facilities. He has responsibility for the company’s entire product range, as PowerPhotonic, the designer and manufacturer of freeform, wafer-scale optics, expands its customer base.
Dr. Stephen Kidd, Head of Sales and Marketing at PowerPhotonic, said, “Andrea is a respected expert in semiconductors and optics, with medical, lidar, telecoms, and datacoms market experience. He was most recently a Senior BDM for Smart Photonics in the Netherlands, a semiconductor fab serving telecom and automotive markets. Previously, he was Senior Account Manager for Santec Europe in London, a Japanese manufacturer of lasers, sensors and optics. He also worked as an Application Engineer at Solid Optics, Netherlands, and as a Data Editor at Farnell, in the UK. We enthusiastically welcome him to our growing team.”
Andrea has an Executive MBA from ESCP Business School and is a qualified Innovation and Growth Executive from McCombs School of Business at the University of Texas. His Ph. D. is in Non-Linear Dynamics and Optical Systems, from the Istituto Nazionale Di Ottica (CNR), and University of Firenze, where he also participated in the European 7th Framework Program in 3D imaging.
Andrea is a fluent communicator in English and Italian with a more basic knowledge of Spanish. Outside work, he enjoys sports such as swimming, football and cycling and relaxes by playing chess, reading, listening to music and travelling.
